Having bought the old olive oil factory in Telheiro, Gil Kalisvaart used the background of the great hall and rugged
machinery to create an atmospheric space of art and good food – the Restaurante-Bar SEM FIM.
At the foot of Monsaraz, glimpsed from the porch, you can now find a place of taste and flavours: the old olive presses
are decorated with objects gathered from the land around, from journeys and from memories,
the smell of olive oil still clings to the huge old terracotta urns, you can trace the outlines of the iron, metal, slate and
stone pieces around you, listen to the sound of sheepbells beyond the dry stone wall,
or Bach or Miles Davis, world music or the locals at the bar, singing the haunting chorus of the fields.
All this can be savoured from your table, on a voyage through Alentejo cooking to flavours of the world.
